Gertrude Grubb Janeway was only 18 when she married a Civil War Veteran named John Janeway 81.  Due to the age difference between John and Gerdie (as she was know to her friends) and that she lived to be 93 years old she holds the honor of being the last Widow receiving a Civil War Pension check.  Gerdie never remarried even though she became a widow at the age of 28 allowing her to continue to receive her husbands Civil War Pension check.

Pictured above is a collage of prints that include a Print of the Home of Gertrude Grubb Janeway, replica of Final Civil War Pension Check and prints of Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant and Robert E Lee along with a replica of the Gettysburg Address..  This collage of prints will be sold in a limited edition set.  For more information on these prints you can contact us by the link above.
